Voluntary Organisations and Special Interest Groups
The Beyond the School Project can be carried out by young people between the ages of 13 and 20 (13 and 25 for those with special needs) from youth and community groups and other volunatry sector organisations. It is also possible to include other organisations such as museums, libraries, National Parks and charities in the project. If you are involved in such an organization and you would like to become involved in the project you can apply for funding to the Heritage Lottery Fund Young Roots programme in the same way as schools and colleges. The project costs are the same whatever type of organisation is involved. In order to be eligible for Heritage Lottery funding your project needs to related to the local and culturally varied heritage of the UK . You must also be able to show that your project is delivered through a partnership. Youth groups must work with at least one heritage partner to deliver the project, (eg your local library, records office or museum).
Projects should involve young people in activities which help them learn more about their own or other people's heritage. The Heritage Lottery Fund aims to encourage projects that help young people enjoy and develop their own views about heritage.
The Centre for Modern Education(UK) Ltd can provide complete project consultancy for the duration of the project. The extent of the consultancy will depend on which product package is purchased but can include the preparation and submission of the project proposal to the Lottery Fund. Working alongside you, Centre for Modern Education will prepare the project proposal so that you can receive the financial support necessary for all aspects of the project.. The school will be required to take responsibility for the copyright of the historical materials and it will need to assign this copyright to Centre for Modern Education (UK), Ltd., acting as a third party.
