Two images of the same row of buildings - twenty years apart. In 1971 we can see Lloyd's Bank to the left of the row and Collett's Hotel to the extreme right. Lloyds had strong connections to Small Heath as both of the bank's founders, Sampson Lloyd and John Taylor lived in the area. The later view still shows Lloyds but there is some change of use evident for the other buildings. The Birmingham Halal Chicken Company has set up in the middle premises and the hotel appears to have reverted to private domestic use. Note also the roof repairs which are evident and the trimming of two of the chimneys.
