Project view - MY WARWICKSHIRE

 English

Project text:

Did you know that Warwickshire is the place where...

  • William Shakespeare was born (by the way: did you know he invented a lot of new words - for example road, lonely and hurry) ? We all speak Shakespeare every day!
  • The game of rugby football was first played? It was in the early 19th century, when William Webb Ellis broke the rules of football and picked up the ball and in so doing founded the game that bears the name of the town - Rugby.
  • you can find the ancient village of Dunchurch that is often dubbed the `Gunpowder Plot Village' as it was here that the conspirators waited to hear if their mission had been accomplished?

There are more interesting things to be explored in Warwickshire.

Accept our invitation and enjoy MY WARWICKSHIRE!
